Park Opatovina

Description

Opatovina itself was named after the abbot of the Cistercian monastery who lived next to the church of St. Marija na Dolac. The six gardens, which once belonged to the canonical curiae on the Kaptol, extended to the western Kaptol wall, and after the Second World War were turned into a public promenade. The views of the western Kaptol wall are open. During the summer, a stage is set up in the park where theater performances, concerts, etc. are held. In the north-west corner of the park there is the best preserved Kaptol tower, the so-called Priscilla’s tower. It belonged to the manor on Kaptol number 15. From Prišlin’s tower, the northern Kaptol wall extends all the way to Kaptol Street.
